Kevin O’Hara first arrived on the shores of Greenland looking for adventure in October 1993. He found that adventure and much more.
At that time he knew very little of the people, the land or the culture. This changed quite quickly once he arrived and he has now considers Greenland his second home.
During the past 12 years, Kevin has spent more than three years during 17 trips to the land he loves so much and is now well known around the country. Each time he returns, he is greeted like one of the locals.
Kevin has a special ability to capture photos of this magnificent land, and the people. Whether it is photos of the children, elders, northern lights, flowers or ice bergs, he sees our land as no one else does and it shows in his pictures.
While working with Greenland Travel at the Toronto International Travel show in 1997, Kevin’s photos won “First Prize” out of 300
companies. His photos now appear regularly in tourism brochures, post cards and calendars around Greenland
Kevin has done photo contracts for many companies in Greenland and his work is seen on a regular basis in magazines and web sites by such companies as Royal Arctic Line, Royal Greenland, Air Greenland, The Greenland Homerule Government and various travel agencies.
Kevin says that this land which he calls “Paradise” brings much joy to his life and he continues to spend a lot of time here. He is already thinking about his next book.
